Have you ever thought, despite being very talented, some people face difficulty in fighting stress. Multiple times we find even if academically successful, many young people fail miserably in facing challenges in life. Divorce, suicide, addiction are rampant in more educated people in recent times.

Being intelligent is good, but it never makes someone complete. It can give you good grades, but success in life doesn’t need only good grades. So high IQ never makes someone successful. A person needs high emotional quotient (EQ) along with high IQ to be successful in life.
WHAT IS EQ

Emotional intelligence can also be defined as the capacity to recognise our own feelings and those of others for motivating ourselves and managing emotions well in our social interactions. EQ is not dependent on age of individual. As we are social animals, emotional intelligence continues to change life long.
COMPONENTS OF EQ
Knowing one’s emotions.
Controlling one’s emotions.
Recognizing emotions in others (empathy).
Controlling emotions in others.
Improvement in emotional control.
VIRTUE OF EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT
1. Self-awareness
The capacity for understanding one’s emotions, strengths, weaknesses and self- confidence. High emotional intelligence people understand the emotions and strength of others.
2. Self-management
The capacity for efficiently managing one’s motives and regulating one’s behaviour, self-control, adaptability, achievement, orientation and initiative. High EQ person can do better self management in difficult situation.
3. Social awareness
The capacity for understanding what others are saying and feeling. And why they feel and act as they do. If someone can understand others problem, then he can be successful as a leader.
4. Social skills
The capacity for acting in such a way that one is able to get the desired results from others and reach personal goals, developing others, leadership, conflict management and teamwork. In every field a successful person needs social skills.

EQ and IQ combination makes people successful. If emotional intelligence is low, even IQ is high he/ she will face too much difficulty in life. How to increase EQ, it’s topic of another Sunday mirror.

Yes of course. This is the problem what most of the people face in their lives. Really EQ is more important than IQ in everyone’s life though both have their own significance.
Waiting for the next Sunday Mirror.
