Diabetes is a very common disease in present scenario. Every year the burden is on steep increase. Diabetes is one of the worst enemy of our nervous system. It can cause severe complications in our brain and nerves.

BRAIN STROKE

Diabetes causes various changes in blood vessels of brain causing stroke. Of the several mechanistic stroke subtypes, individuals with diabetes are especially susceptible to the consequences of cerebral small vessel diseases. Hyperglycemia confers greater risk of stroke occurrence. Improving stroke outcomes in individuals with diabetes requires strict diabetes controlas well as adoption of beneficial lifestyle practices.
MEMORY LOSS

Diabetes is considered a risk factor for memory loss. Many people with diabetes have brain changes that are hallmarks of both Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia. Some researchers think that each condition fuels the damage caused by the other.
DIABETIC NEUROPATHY


The most common problem is neuropathy, which is more common in foot and hands. Patient feels decrease in sensation in foot and limbs. Over time, at least 50% of individuals with diabetes develop diabetic neuropathy. Glucose control effectively halts the progression of diabetic neuropathy in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, but the effects are more in those with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
DEPRESSION

The co-occurrence of depression in diabetes is attributed to a variety of factors, including the psychological and social impact of the disease. The presence of depression in patients with diabetes mellitus is of vast importance, as it is usually associated with poor disease control, adverse health outcomes and quality of life impairment.
DIABETIC RETINOPATHY


Diabetic retinopathy (DR) causes significant visual loss on a global scale. Many patients loose precious vision due to destruction of the retinal layer.
Strict blood sugar control and lifestyle modification is the key solution of so many problems due to diabetes.
